HL Deb 17 February 1942 vol 121 c888WA
THE EARL OF ONSLOW

asked His Majesty's Government whether it is not the case that the North Somerset Yeomanry and Yorkshire Dragoons took part in the Syrian Campaign and whether they should not have been included in the list of those units which participated.

THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (LORD CROFT)

I much regret that in the stress of war in the Middle East the list of units which I originally gave as taking part in the Syrian campaign was not complete. I have since ascertained that the North Somerset Yeomanry and Yorkshire Dragoons took part in these operations, and I am glad to say that both units acquitted themselves well.

House adjourned.
