HC Deb 12 February 1942 vol 377 cc1603-4W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware that there is anxiety among educationists regarding the probable results of the general calling up of students following courses of study in other subjects than science and medicine, and the cessation of the supply of future teachers of the humanities; and whether he will confer with the Minister of Labour and the Ministers for the fighting services to secure some reservation hr non-technical pupils, although of military age?

Mr. Butler

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer given to-day by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour and National Service to a similar Question put by the hon. Member for the English Universities (Mr. Harvey). I am in consultation with my right hon. Friend on the matter.
