asked the Secretary for Mines the number of tons of coal cut by hand and the amount cut by coal-cutting machinery in each of the coalfields during the years 1930, 1935 and 1940, respectively?

It would not be in the public interest to publish the figures for the year 1940, but I am sending to my hon. Friend, for his confidential information, the figures for this year and for the years 1930 and 1935.
