HC Deb 17 December 1942 vol 385 c2109W
Mr. Ellis Smith

asked the Minister of Labour whether the proposals that are being made in the building industry to meet post-war conditions will also apply to the engineering industry; what steps are being taken to set up the necessary machinery, seeing that dilution has been carried through with good-will; and what action is to be taken to avoid the last post-war chaos which had such a bad effect on the engineers?

Mr. Bevin

The post-war conditions in the engineering industry are under careful consideration as a part of the general subject of resettlement and reconstruction and it is proposed in due course to enter into consultations with the organisations concerned.
