HC Deb 10 December 1942 vol 385 c1715W
Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Pensions why men discharged from hospital are asked to fill in Form B 179, stating what they think is the cause of their complaint?

Sir W. Womersley

This form is completed by men about to be invalided from the Service irrespective of whether or not they are being discharged from hospital. The object of the form is to assist the Medical Board and the Ministry of Pensions to form an opinion as to the connection of the invaliding disability with war service. As I informed the hon. Member for North Cornwall (Mr. Horabin) in reply to a Question on 19th November, if it is decided that the man's condition is attributable to his war service an award is made even though lie may not have so connected it.
