HC Deb 06 August 1942 vol 382 c1206W
Squadron-Leader Errington

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is taking steps to ensure that a good variety of rationed sweets are available for the Army in the country instead of a limited selection as at present?

Mr. Sandys

Under the Ministry of Food's sweet rationing scheme retailers can only get sweets from manufacturers within their own regions and Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes are in the same position in this matter as other retailers. I am advised, however, that within these limits a good variety of sweets will normally be obtainable.
