§ Lieutenant - Commander Hutchisonasked the Secretary of State for War (1) whether he is now in a position to state the composition and terms of reference of the committee which is to inquire into the proposed transfer of Voluntary Aid Detachment nurses to the Auxiliary Territorial Service;
(2) whether it is proposed to include any members of the Voluntary Aid Detachment Council and representatives of the Territorial Army Associations on the committee which is to inquire into the proposed transfer of Voluntary Aid Detachment nurses to the Auxiliary Territorial Service?
§ Mr. SandysIt is hoped to announce the precise composition and terms of reference of the committee very shortly. Meanwhile I can inform the hon. and gallant Gentleman that the committee will be composed of one person nominated by each of the organisations represented upon the Voluntary Aid Detachments Council which are principally concerned together with representatives of the Government Departments affected. There will be an independent chairman.
