HC Deb 04 August 1942 vol 382 cc860-1W
Mr. Mander

asked the Minister of Labour the present position with regard to the abolition of night-baking in Wolverhampton and district, and to what extent it has now been abolished throughout the rest of the country?

Mr. Tomlinson

The employers' association and the union concerned have agreed to refer to arbitration the question of abolishing night baking in the Wolverhampton district, and the matter is being referred to the industrial court. I have no exact information regarding the extent to which night baking has been abolished in other parts of the country.
