HC Deb 04 August 1942 vol 382 c864W
Sir R. Gower

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, in connection with the new General Service Corps, tests are given for high natural intelligence as well as for aptitude?

Sir J. Grigg

The most important single test given in connection with the General Service scheme is a straightforward test of general intelligence, which is designed, as far as possible, to give an equal chance to all men without regard to their education.
