HL Deb 28 April 1942 vol 122 c748WA
THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (VISCOUNT CRANBORNE) (Lord Cecil)

My Lords, I beg to move that this House do now adjourn.

Moved, That the House do now adjourned.—(Viscount Cranborne.)

LORD STRABOLGI

My Lords, on that Motion may I ask the noble Viscount, the Leader of the House, what action he proposes to take in view of the vote just recorded against the Government?

VISCOUNT CRANBORNE

My Lords, I can assure the noble Lord who has asked this question that the Government will give the fullest consideration to the views expressed in the House to-day, and to the vote. He will not expect me to say more than that now.

LORD STRABOLGI

My Lords, arising out of that answer, I would point out that this is a Resolution passed by the House, and I hops that more than consideration will be given to it.

On Question, Motion agreed to.

House adjourned.
