Mr. Temple Morrisasked the Minister of Agriculture how many acres of land in Wales are being farmed by the different war agricultural executive committees; and what is the estimated cost of such farming over and above the normal yield of revenue?
Mr. HudsonNine thousand one hundred and twelve acres of land in Wales and Monmouthshire are being farmed by county war agricultural executive committees representing 108 separate units. The estimated total revenue from farming in the first year of operations represents a small net surplus over farming costs and it is expected that when each unit is in full production—during the second or third year—none will show any annual farming loss.
