HC Deb 09 September 1941 vol 374 cc55-6W
Mr. Wootton-Davies

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that the arrangements for making available to the appropriate officers of all Ministries technical information which has come into the possession of another Ministry are unsatisfactory; and whether he will investigate the advisability of setting up some central clearing house or some central intelligence or reference station where all technical and scientific information available to Government Departments will be pooled, and to which Government Departments will apply when needing such information not readily available to them?

Captain Crookshank

The answer to the first part of the Question in the negative. Effective arrangements exist for the interchange between Departments of information on technical and scientific matters. As at present advised, I do not consider that any new central machinery is needed.
