HC Deb 09 September 1941 vol 374 c47W
Sir R. Gower

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether string-covered gloves for mine-sweeper crews are still desired; and whether he will make a statement on the subject for the information of those who have hitherto been making them?

Mr. Alexander

In the early days of the war supply of these gloves was much appreciated, but the need for them is now dying out. Leather gloves are now provided for mine-sweeper crews, as these are more suitable.
