HC Deb 09 September 1941 vol 374 c44W
Sir W. Jenkins

asked the Minister without Portfolio what steps he has taken to ascertain what use can be made of the Neath River, and the wharfage on both sides, as a suitable site for new industries and for shipping facilities, as post-war schemes?

Mr. Greenwood

The utilisation of ports and their facilities is part of the larger question of industrial location. In this connection I would refer my hon. Friend to my reply to his Question on 7th August.

Sir W. Jenkins

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Supply whether he is taking steps to adapt present industries which are now supplying munitions of war to be transferred for useful reconstruction when hostilities cease, to ensure continuity of employment to the workmen; and whether he is preparing a plan to maintain the population in the industrial areas of Glamorgan?

Mr. Harold Macmillan

I would refer the hon.. Member to the answer given by my right hon. Friend the Minister without Portfolio to his Question on 7th August.
