§ Sir W. Smithersasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he is aware that the giving of the £10 per acre subsidy on potatoes encourages the bad farmer and penalises the good; and will he, in any future arrangements, take steps to pay the subsidy on tonnage and not on acreage?
