§ Mr. BrackenMr. Ivone Kirkpatrick, who has been appointed Controller of the European Division of the B.B.C., is a member of His Majesty's Diplomatic Service who until the outbreak of war was First Secretary to His Majesty's Embassy in Berlin. In this capacity he had to meet most of the Nazi leaders and was therefore sent to identify and question Rudolf Hess when the latter landed in Scotland. Since February of this year Mr. Kirkpatrick has been the Foreign Adviser to the B.B.C. on behalf of the Government.
