Major Lloyd GeorgeAs I have previously explained, the special ration of cheese is not a supplementary ration in respect of heavy work, but is intended to meet the needs of certain categories of workers who take their mid-day meal with them to work, and I feel that the grant of the special ration to canal barge-men could not be justified. If my hon. and gallant Friend will furnish me with particulars of cases where difficulty has been experienced in obtaining rationed foods I will look into them.
