§ Mrs. Tateasked the Minister of Health the number of women working at factories in the town, the name of which has been sent to him, and the number of day nurseries in that town?
§ Mr. E. BrownAs regards the first part of the Question, I am informed by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour and National Service that full statistics are not available but the larger firms in the town (employing over 100 workpeople each) have about 7,500 women employees and that information is not available as to the number of these who are married women with young children. As regards the second part, one war-time nursery is open and five more have been approved which, should be in operation before the end of the year.
