HC Deb 12 November 1941 vol 376 c5W
Mr. R. Morgan

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works and Buildings whether, in relation to the rehousing of the 17th Manchester tax district and the unsatisfactory nature of the proposals for accommodating it in Ellesmere Road, Eccles, he is aware that the addresses of six sets of alternative offices have been supplied to the Board of Inland Revenue; and whether, in these circumstances, he will agree not to carry out the Ellesmere Road scheme until detailed inspections of the said offices have been made?

Mr. Hicks

Yes, Sir. The premises have been considered but none of them provides a suitable alternative to the scheme proposed, which must now be put in hand.
