§ Sir Smedley Crookeasked the Minister of Labour whether, in order to procure a greater absorption of ex-service men in industry, he will consider the advisability of extending the work of the King's National Roll?
§ Mr. BevinThe question of extending the King's Roll Scheme has recently been under consideration by the King's Roll National Council and I am now awaiting a report on the Council's views. I would point out that there has been a substantial reduction in the number of disabled ex-Service men from the last war registered as unemployed, the latest figure being 7,942 as compared with 26,220 in 1939. I have every hope that this improvement will continue.
