Major Lloyd GeorgeThe purpose of the changes in the organisation of the Supply Department of the Ministry recently announced is to make the fullest use of the man-power available in the Ministry of Food. The reply to the second part of the Question is in the negative. It would be impossible to carry on the work of the Ministry efficiently without the assistance of men experienced 1725W in the purchase, manufacture and distribution of food supplies. All the officers referred to in the recent announcement were already on the staff of the Ministry and nearly all of them have served in the Ministry since the outbreak of war.
