§ Sir R. Glynasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he will inquire into the abnormal delays that take place in the settlement of accounts with the railway companies, in view of the fact that there was a Treasury order that payment should be made within 21 days of the date of presentation of the account; what are the average delays in payment by the Admiralty, War Office, Ministry of Aircraft Production and Ministry of Supply; and what is the total amount due to the railway companies from these Departments on accounts which were presented over a month ago?
