§ Sir C. Headlamasked the Minister of Information whether it is by direction of his Department that it is forbidden to use re-directed envelopes for letters sent to Southern Ireland; and will he take steps to withdraw this prohibition in order to save paper?
Mr. CooperThe use of re-directed envelopes in overseas mail is only prohibited where a gummed slip is used. In view of the difficulty of censoring letters redirected in this way the prohibition cannot be withdrawn.
