The following table shows the number of men under 30 serving at Admiralty Headquarters in London and Bath:

  1. (a)Number actually under 30 on 27th February, 1941—1,627.
  2. (b)Registered under National Ser vice Act as under 30—1,294.
  3. (c) Under 19 on 31st December, 1940, and so not yet registered—419.

The headquarter staff of the War Office includes 502 male civilians under 30 years of age. Of this number, more than half are under 20 years of age and so belong to classes which have not been called up. Practically all the remainder are either medically unfit or in classes at present reserved.

The headquarters staff of the Air Ministry includes 1,464 male civilians under 30 years of age. Of this number 862 are under the age of 20.
