HC Deb 04 March 1941 vol 369 c791W
Captain Poole

asked the Secretary of State for Air the number of movement control officers employed by his Department; what qualifications were sought before men were selected for the work; what are their functions; and whether he is satisfied with the results achieved?

Sir A. Sinclair

There are 55 movement control officers employed by the Air Ministry. They were selected in the main for their professional experience of transport problems and their functions are to co-ordinate and expedite the movement of equipment and personnel on behalf both of the Air Ministry and of the Ministry of Aircraft Production. The answer to the last part of the question is in the affirmative.
