Mr. David Adamsasked the Secretary of State for War whether the work of the Mechanised Transport Corps is officially recognised; to what extent it consists of transporting elderly military men who 55W might more usefully go by omnibus or train; and how are its members able to secure all the petrol they use in so doing?
§ Captain MargessonThe Mechanised Transport Corps is not officially recognised by the War Office and does not receive petrol from Army stocks. The question of the provision of petrol from civil stocks is a matter for my hon. Friend the Secretary for Petroleum.
