§ Mr. LawThe Hankow dispensary ceased business last April owing to difficulties arising out of the closure of the Yangtse. Special efforts to help this British firm were made by His Majesty's Consuls-General at Hankow and Shanghai, and some shipments of medical supplies were permitted to Hankow for the dispensary. Owing, however, to great delays, and to the fact that no miscellaneous goods were allowed to be shipped, the turnover became insufficient to keep the firm in business.
