§ Mr. Stokesasked the President of the Board of Trade why he encourages the export of cotton goods and textiles from this country to the United States of America, in view of the shortage of clothes in this country?
§ Mr. JohnstoneThere is a sufficient supply of clothing in this country for our necessities if properly distributed. Our need for dollars is very great and it is essential that we should make the most of the export capacity which we still possess, even at the cost of some self-denial.
