§ Mr. Noel-Bakerasked the Home Secretary whether he has asked the International Committee of the Red Cross at Geneva to make arrangements which will permit the dispatch of food parcels to the civil population of the Channel Islands?
§ Mr. Peake:If, as I assume, my hon. Friend has in mind an arrangement to enable food parcels to be sent from this country to persons resident in the Channel Isles, I am afraid there would be great difficulties about such a scheme and my right hon. Friend regrets that he cannot hold out any hope for the present at any rate that such an arrangement may become practicable.
