HC Deb 04 February 1941 vol 368 c822W
Mr. Groves

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that many premises in the East End of London, seriously damaged by enemy aircraft, have not been visited by representatives of the Treasury to ascertain and assess the degree and amount of damage to the stock and premises; and whether he will expedite such necessary inquiries.

Captain Crookshank

Compensation for damage to stocks insurable under the Commodities Insurance Scheme is a matter for my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade, to whom any question on the subject should be addressed. As regards damage to premises, the hon. Member will appreciate that the position is affected by the provisions of the War Damage Bill which is at present under consideration by Parliament.
