HC Deb 04 February 1941 vol 368 c816W
Mr. David Adams

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Aircraft Production if he is aware that the slow payment by the Government of accounts of main contractors and consequent non-payment of the sub-contractors is impeding production of aircraft and components; and whether he will take steps to remedy this?

Colonel Llewellin

I am not aware of any undue delay in the payment of sums due to aircraft contractors. On the contrary, this Ministry has made very complete arrangements for the prompt settlement of sums due to them. These arrangements provide for progress payments to main contractors of the full amounts paid by them to sub-contractors. If, however, my hon. Friend will let me have particulars of any cases he has in mind, I shall be glad to look into them.
