Lyleasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the shortage of high-tension batteries throughout the country; and whether, in view of the importance of the broadcasting system in the event of invasion, he will take steps to ensure that supplies are readily available to residents in country villages who have no local electricity supply and consequently rely upon these batteries for their wireless receiving sets?
