§ Mr. BrackenThe only enemy alien on the staff of the Ministry of Information is a Finn who is employed on Censorship duties at a salary of £515 a year. He is one of the 6 aliens employed to whom I referred in my reply to my hon. Friend on 19th November. The only regular advisers of alien nationality are Professor Mittwoch and Professor Schacht. A small number of aliens are paid fees for occasional translations but are not members of the staff nor have they access to any confidential papers.
1542WThe British Broadcasting Corporation employ 61 Germans, 17 Italians, 18 Hungarians, 12 Roumanians, and 3 Finns. Their salaries range from £3 10s. a week to £900 a year. No enemy aliens are employed as advisers.
