HC Deb 09 December 1941 vol 376 c1402W
Sir W. Smiles

asked the Secretary of State for India whether European doctors who have been called up or who have volunteered from the tea gardens in Assam and are now serving with the Indian Medical Service or doing full time medical work with the Army in India, are receiving the same pay and the same overseas allowances and given the same opportunities for promotion as European doctors of similar rank and doing similar duties in India who may have joined up in England?

Mr. Amery

I have already made inquiries on this subject, and will communicate with my hon. Friend on receipt of a reply from the Government of India.
