HC Deb 04 December 1941 vol 376 c1267W
Sir W. Allen

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in order to give the thousands of disabled ex-service men of the war 1914–18 in Northern Ireland with no facilities now for training the same opportunity now granted to ex-service men in Great Britain, he will consider establishing a training centre in Northern Ireland for this and other war purposes, thereby making facilities available to both men and women now resident there and to meet the new demands for increased man-power?

Mr. Bevin

It is not my present intention to establish a training centre such as my hon. and gallant Friend suggests, but the matter is being kept under review in consultation with the authorities in Northern Ireland.
