HC Deb 04 December 1941 vol 376 c1284W
Sir F. Sanderson

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that the new Civil Defence uniform for personnel in the London Auxiliary Ambulance Service, promised nearly a year ago, has not yet been issued, and, as the cold winter weather is now on its way, will he see that these are now provided without delay?

Mr. H. Morrison

The decision to provide greatcoats and serve uniforms for Civil Defence Services generally, including the ambulance service, was only taken immediately before I announced it in the House on 22nd May last. As regards the particular supply to the London Auxiliary Ambulance Service I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave on 20th November to my hon. Friend the Member for Norwich (Mr. H. Strauss). Since that date the supplies referred to have been continued satisfactorily.
