§ Sir F. Sandersonasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that the new Civil Defence uniform for personnel in the London Auxiliary Ambulance Service, promised nearly a year ago, has not yet been issued, and, as the cold winter weather is now on its way, will he see that these are now provided without delay?
§ Mr. H. MorrisonThe decision to provide greatcoats and serve uniforms for Civil Defence Services generally, including the ambulance service, was only taken immediately before I announced it in the House on 22nd May last. As regards the particular supply to the London Auxiliary Ambulance Service I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave on 20th November to my hon. Friend the Member for Norwich (Mr. H. Strauss). Since that date the supplies referred to have been continued satisfactorily.
