HC Deb 02 April 1941 vol 370 cc1012-3W
Mr. A. Edwards

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether, in view of the serious discontent amongst the heavy steel workers in Middlesbrough regarding the inadequacy of their food ration, it is his intention always to include this class of worker among those who are to have special rations?

Major Lloyd George

The present policy is not to grant supplementary rations to heavy workers but to allow the maximum possible ration to all consumers. Should it be decided to depart from this policy the question of steel workers will receive every consideration.
