§ Mr. Jacksonasked the Minister of Agriculture whether farmers in the West Country are likely to get supplies of compound manures, some of which have been on order for six months, in time for spring sowing; and, if not, will they be available for the sugar-beet and root crops
Mr. HudsonSupplies of compound fertilisers delivered in the West Country so far during this season have considerably exceeded those for the corresponding period of last season, but I am aware that there is still an unsatisfied demand. Additional supplies are being sent to this area and it is expected that sufficient compound fertilisers will be available for sugar beet and root crops.
