§ Mr. Crowderasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, prior to the introduction of his next Budget, he will consider appointing a committee to investigate the possibility of imposing a form of Excess Profits Tax on incomes based on war increases, as compared with incomes for any one of the three years prior to the commencement of the war?
§ Sir K. WoodI have duly noted my hon. Friend's suggestion in connection with further Budget proposals, but I do not think the appointment of a committee would be an appropriate or convenient course.
