Mr. M. MacDonaldThirty-eight women experienced in social welfare work are being appointed to the staff of the Special Commissioner for the Homeless in London. Their main functions will be to visit, to assist in and to report upon the arrangements for the reception of the homeless at rest centres and for their subseqnuent rehousing, or evacuation. They will be paid at the rate of £250 per annum, and T am sending my hon. Friend the names of the 23 women so far appointed.
