§ Mr. Lindsayasked the Home Secretary whether, in view of the importance of speedy executive action, he will now appoint a Health Commissioner for the London region with full powers?
§ Mr. H. MorrisonI have been in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Health on this suggestion and we are satisfied that the problem which my hon. Friend has in mind can best be handled by the existing organisation both central and local, and that the appointment of a Health Commissioner is not necessary.
