§ Mr. Perkinsasked the Postmaster-General, whether, in view of the present difficulties now confronting the Post Office and the shortage of paper, he will make an appeal to the general public to refrain from sending Christmas cards?
§ Mr. W. S. MorrisonI hope that the public will do their best to lighten the burden which will fall upon the Post Office during the period of Christmas pressure, and I much appreciate my hon. Friend's desire to help the Post Office in what is bound to be a most formidable task. I hesitate, however, to ask the public to refrain entirely from sending Christmas cards, more especially as so many children and young people are away from home in reception areas, or on service.
