§ Sir P. Hurdasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Labour how many applicants seeking employment are now recorded on the Central Register; and how many have found employment under the system of the Register?
§ Mr. AsshetonThe Central Register is a record of offers of service from persons with specialised qualifications. Less than 4 per cent. of the 94,357 enrolled on 20th May are known not to be employed or otherwise occupied. Up to that date 5,338 persons had been notified to the Register as transferred to new employment, and approximately 4,000 were still under consideration.
