§ Mr. Parkerasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that many local authorities feel that the area 1427W served by the London Local Price Regulation Committee is too large, and that the consumers are not sufficiently represented thereon; and whether he will take steps to divide the Metropolitan police area among a number of smaller units and appoint a number of representatives from local authorities on such committees to safeguard the interests of the general public?
Major Lloyd GeorgeI am not aware that many local authorities hold the views stated by the hon. Member. Experience has not shown any reason for subdividing the area of the London Price Regulation Committee, and I consider that the representation of consumers on the committee is adequate.
