§ Mr. Burgin,pursuant to his reply (Official Report, 20th March, 1940; col. 1979, Vol. 358) supplied the following information
The number of persons recruited to the staff of the Ministry of Supply from the Central Register (other than staffs in the various Raw Materials Controls) over the period 3rd September to 19th March was 493, being 61 per cent. of the total recruitment in the corresponding grades.
