§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe importance of the subject to which the hon. Member refers is fully appreciated. Large sums are already being expended by the Government in restraining the rise which would otherwise have taken place in the cost of living. Every possible effort is being made and will be made by the Ministry of Food to ensure that adequate food supplies are available at reasonable prices for every class of consumer.
