HC Deb 21 March 1940 vol 358 c2146W
Colonel Burton

asked the Minister of Health whether he is prepared to make orders or regulations which will place non-contributory old age pensioners on a parity with other old age pensioners, as concerns the disregards in connection with the assessment of means?

Mr. Elliot

I think that my hon. Friend's Question is based on a misapprehension. The provisions of the Bill under which certain specified resources are to be disregarded by the Assistance Board, apply for the purposes of supplementary pensions equally whether the applicant is in receipt of a contributory or a non-contributory pension.
