§ Mr. Sorensenasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware of the resentment of county councils that they have no power to control police expenditure through standing joint committees; and whether, in view of the anachronism of the public authorities having to meet this expenditure without direct control, he will consider the desirability of introducing amending legislation in the future?
