Mr. Wilsonasked the Home Secretary (1) whether he will inquire into and report on the understandings reached and the undertakings given in the negotiations between local authorities and the Home Office in regard to air-raid precautions work, and the extent to which those understandings and undertakings have been varied; and by what authority and to what extent;
734W(2) whether he has considered the resolutions passed by the Sheffield Education Committee stating that the refusal of the Ministry of Civil Defence to pay grants in respect of air-raid precautions work for schools, in accordance with the agreements reached with representative local authorities and embodied in the Air Raid Precautions Act of 1937, is a breach of the agreement entered into; and what is the reason for such refusal?
