Greenasked the Minister of Transport whether he has taken any steps to satisfy himself that the recent increase of 50 per cent. in the charges to domestic consumers of electricity by the London Electric Supply Corporation, Limited, is justified and, further, that such increase is not in the nature of profiteering?
§ Captain WallaceThe increase in the electricity charges of the London Electric Supply Corporation, Limited, has not previously been brought to my notice. I have asked the Electricity Commissioners to obtain particulars from the company, and I will communicate further with the hon. Member as soon as possible.
